Golden, delicious ghee made with two ingredients:
organic butter from grass-fed cows and fresh basil grown by Earth-N-Hands Farm in Kneeland, CA.
Four different varieties of locally grown basil - Genovese, Dolce Fresca, Thai & Purple - make this flavor taste like a lighter, sweeter version of pesto. One of those flavors that stands well on its own as a spread, but equally great for pan-frying chicken, fish, summer squash & grilled cheese sandwiches. Toss with hot, fresh pasta (or spaghetti squash if you're low-carb/gluten-free) and top with a little parmesan cheese.
Great for searing meats, frying eggs, sauteeing/roasting veggies and creating sauces or marinades.

Simply put, ghee is clarified butter! Ghee Well takes organic butter from local, pasture-raised cows (along with many other fresh & flavorful ingredients made/grown in Humboldt County) and simmer it over low heat to brown the solids, which are then removed. What remains is a pure butterfat with a rich, caramel-like flavor - without the lacose, casein or moisture still present in butter!
So, how do you use it? Since the lactose & casein have been filtered out, ghee has a high smoke point (450F) and can be used in instances where butter would normally burn.
Ghee is shelf stable and does not require refrigeration! Just use a clean, dry utensilto prevent cross-contamination, store out of direct sunlight and use within a few months of opening for best flavor.
